LIFELINES: Documentary

An old cameraman gets a shot at new adventure

- a 6 x 30 eco-adventure series -

At first glance, Ed George looks like an average senior citizen. He’s divorced, drives a latemodel SUV and worries about social security. But those rugged lines etched across his face? Each one is a story. And Ed’s got lots of them.

As a working cameraman, cinematographer and filmmaker, the 66-year-old grandfather has tangled with venomous snakes in South America, been charged by elephants in Africa, and navigated dangerous rapids on a 21-day expedition/film shoot down the Colorado River.

He’s seen plenty – usually through the lens of a camera. But for this adventurous spirit, the more he sees, the more he wants to experience. And he wants to take people – young and old – along for the ride.

“My work makes me feel like I’m part of something that’s bigger than I am,” Ed says. “And if my work can help other people see that we are part of something bigger than we are, and make people aware of nature, then I feel like I’m doing something worthwhile.

“I feel connected,” he adds. “I feel like I’m truly part of this wheel of life. And to be able to show that and help engender awareness in other people is immensely satisfying.”

LIFELINES is a show about embracing life. And Ed George personifies this attitude in everything he does. With endless reserves of youthful enthusiasm, he’s out to make new friends in crazy places, joining professional guides in the wild things he's never tried before. This is his bucket list. So he’ll dive with blue sharks off the coast of California, surf huge waves in Hawaii, heli-ski in Alaska and rock climb the Grand Canyon.

Ed instinctively knows where to find adventure. And how to frame it. But it’s been a long time since he’s had a shot at love.

LIFELINES is an inspiring, heartwarming and thrilling journey to some of the wildest places in America. After all, life doesn’t stop until the heart does. And Ed George plans on keeping his racing for a long time to come.

SEA SICK: TV Series

infusing extreme sports with ocean awareness

- a six-part (6 x 60) eco-adventure TV series and transmedia project -

Some people think extreme athletes are just energy drink-pounding adrenaline junkies who see the world as a playground. And environmentalists often get unfairly pegged as hippie-dipped killjoys hell-bent on saving the whales.

What if a television show smashed those stereotypes?

SEA SICK isn’t your father’s armchair environmental documentary: it’s a no-holds-barred, down-anddirty adventure story.

Blending extreme action sports, adventure travel and environmental activism, the compelling journey takes our hosts to some of the world’s most exotic destinations. But these are also endangered habitats. And while our team’s adrenaline-pumping adventures thrill the audience, their engaging chats with hip ocean experts will highlight the perils facing these stunning locations. So we’ll also discover simple solutions to make our planet a better place.

And we’ll have a hell of a good time doing it!
